Security Video Recorder. A security digital video recorder (DVR) is basically a device that allows you to save digital video from spy and security cameras to a hard drive. The technology is continuing to progress and DVRs are becoming less expensive while offering higher recording quality. The latest DVR systems replace the need for a Time Lapse VCR with a Quad or Multiplexer. This reduces the overall cost of a video security system. The main advantages of a DVR system are that it can record digital quality images for a longer period of time than a Time Lapse VCR and you never need to change tapes again. The Echovue security Video recorders are available in 4 and 8 channel. Each version includes the ability to access via the internet remotely. All required software is also included.
